Keith grew up in the East-End of London after the War — a grim place, scarred by the blitz. He first experienced archeology as a kid, digging for treasure in his back yard, finding a brass button dating back to the Napoleonic wars, and wondering how it got there. Scholarships, grants and, fellowships enabled him to study at a “public” (meaning private) school in England, a “prep" school in the USA, then University in England, and eventually graduate school in the USA where he studied theatre and playwriting in particular. Unable to make up his mind about what he wanted to do or be, or perhaps wanting to do and be too many different things, he traveled widely and tried his hand at many endeavors, failing more often than not. Along the way he became a playwright, theatrical scenic and lighting designer, photographer, inventor, author, sculptor, documentary-film maker, music software-developer, usually earning a living as a university teacher and administrator. His passion for archeological exploration led to a lifelong interest in the people and ancient cultures of Peru. He now lives in Santa Cruz, California where, while digging in his garden, he recently found a rusty horseshoe. It reminded him of the brass button. He wonders where it is now.
